In January 2012, Dirk Wollschlaeger was appointed IBM General Manager, Global Automotive Industry. Dirk is now based in Germany after returning from Shanghai at the beginning of 2014.
Dirk Wollschlaeger has more than 20 years of professional experience. During nine of those he was responsible for various roles in the metal-working industry, including Assistant to the Board of Directors, Plant Manager and General Manager. During this period he led a successful turnaround through multiple initiatives including but not limited to the reduction of in-house production, the shift of production to near shore locations and the outsourcing of various departments.
In addition, Dirk has 8 years of consultancy experience with PriceWaterhouseCoopers as well as IBM, serving clients in the chemical, tyre and automotive. The focus of his engagements has been on cost reduction initiatives, the re-organisation of sales and logistics, the implementation of new and innovative business models as well as the implementation of IT systems with a focus on SAP. From 2007 to 2012 he was responsible as Managing Director for IBM Global Business with Daimler AG.
